For God's sake, Illuminator! Make it bigger!

As an independent observer this appears to be a damning indictment of the current administration. How could anyone lead an organization for so many years and not engender some small level of popular support? It seems clear that a small group of insiders has so isolated themselves as to lose touch with the realities of the Edison workplace. One must feel for the faculty and students.

Anonymous, everyone here knows the small group of insiders - Ken, Jane, Carol, Linda, an unmentionable ex from SS - this where the serious besmirching takes place.

Anonymous 2, you missed the "useful idiot" insider. Or don't boys count?

FYI---LP took a SHRM preperation course for SHRM for 11 weeks, through Edison's Non-Credit Business & Industry department, and could not meet the 70% to receive a certification from SHRM. This should have been the first indication that she wasn't qualified for the position, or the salary.

An unmentionable ex from SS - this where the serious besmirching takes place. This comment is where the real source of Edison dimise began....

Por favor, querido SeƱor Ken, nada puede poner fin al dolor y el sufrimiento de los empleados de Edison?

One might be better able to understand the climate of fear at Edison by looking at the history of his annual exterminations. For years the question of the Ides of March has been "Who will Ken fire this year?"

During the decade from 2000 to 2009the turnover of the president's direct reportees has been astonishing, even by his standards. No fewer than 6 senior staff have left. Those currently in senior positions face an average "life at Edison" expectancy of approximately four years.

The "Defense of the Realm" rant video yields clues that prove that actions are stronger than words. Watch KY's hands at some critical junctures and the slow, but steady, slide and lean of the gentleman on his left as he attempts to distance himself.

Apparently, if 5 people, with only carefully filtered data, will vote for Yowell, the rest of the Edison community can just go knit while he continues to enjoy his dictatorship.

So sorry to butt in, but everyone is missing the obvious solution here. Do away with the president's cabinet and personnel, do away with the ridiculously pampered trustees, do away with the many dollars wasted competing with Sinclair for students, align as a branch of Sinclair for the northern Miami Valley and appoint Mindy McNutt as campus manager (she has the experience from Lake Campus WSU.) You can bet that Steven Johnson would meet with people and honor them, and not try to outdo the president of OSU in perks. Another plus - Mike Burns, who could actually manage the Edison money, data and budgeting, (unlike Ken Yowell) would be one of the folks gained through joining Sinclair.

No, no. Your butt is hot. Except for the dreaded merge argument, which the Editorial Junta will never support, unless it happens, in which case we will pretend we were for all along.

This report and the comments need to be forwarded to Fingerhut so that the Board of Regency knows exactly how this impacts the student body and how that body is reacting.

The first post with the "small group of insiders" accurately represents the situation. Beyond the thoroughly enjoyable sniping and satire, a lot of worthwhile and to the point comments are gaining the light of day through The Illuminator. Fingerhut and Strickland need to see these. Keep it going people or nothing will change. Those five votes on the Board gotta go away. Vocal public pressure will help. Stay the course.

Anything and everything Yowell and his little circle have touched bears close examination. If you have anything to share, then get it out to the masses. Look in every closet.

Dear Anon #12 - to the point/s:
1.) The Yowell Tower has always been a source of crude symbolism, and 2 inches too short.
2.) Starship Yowell is an embarrassment to the community and the campus, not to mention a waste of coerced funds.
3.) Point guard Salisbury is Yowell's Achilles' Heel. (Physiology pun intended)

And then there was the lovely, but deadly "Yellow Rose of Texas" and the well-worn, and carefully hidden, data manipulation so useful to KY.

Anonymous said...

The Spanish so masterfully learned by Yowll while in office hibernation, has apparently failed him as he has not answered last night's question. Perhaps German will produce better results - "Himmel, Doktor Yowell, wie lange werden Sie die Farce?"

The innuendo and snappy repertoire aside, IT IS THE FACTS THAT WILL SET YOU FREE. Whatever you know for real and for sure needs to come out now. Good people need the tools to do the work. Keep going.

Anonymous said...

Yes, yes. The Editorial Junta is weary of innuendo. Names, dates, signatures, notaries. These four small things could loose the yokes. In a day. In an hour.

EJ, be calm and let hope fill your heart. All you seek shall be yours in due time. The bravery of the faculty, so long defiled, will soon be rewarded. Coalescence takes planning to unite many diverse interests around the common cause. What evil was grown over 21 years cannot be undone in days. As the onion is peeled the acrid aroma from the core becomes ever more repugnant to the community. The KY regime is ending and you have but its death throes yet to endure. He now has but the pay and perks to console him in his lack of friends and supporters. Those too will soon come to a close and he will just fade away and so with him go his minions. You may take joy in the demise, but do temper it with pity.

Oh, we of the Junta keep hope--thank you for extending it with well measured words, anonymous. There is humility and pity on a human level, to be sure. Yet, faculty yearn to return to our "plows," in the classroom, knowing 1st floor west is staffed with professional men and women--most there are, even now--empowered to do what's right for our students, acting in good faith, if not good will, toward faculty and staff. A Junta can dream, can't it? :)

Anonymous said...

Pity KY and his minions my butt. What goes around comes around. About time. The good people have suffered enough.

We hear that Dr. Yowell, or Yowl, as the case may be, received a 3 year contract from the Board by the narrowest possible margin. Pray tell, why would they make it expensive to get rid of him? For the love of Mike, he ain't going anywhere else on his own. He tried and no one else wanted him. Egads, what lunacy.

A KY buyout could be covered by putting CQI out of business and saving the cost of JS and the CQI travel and training expenses. It would be money well spent.

Anonymous said...

We like the idea. A buyout would be an exemplary demonstration of the Board meeting its fiduciary responsibilities. Replace KY and the privileged minions with fewer, more qualified, and reasonably compensated staff, and we will save enough money to keep all of our faculty and programs. Board members listening?

Anonymous said...

Hey, a buyout works for everyone. Well, maybe not the minions, but who cares about them? Yowell walks away with his pocketbook of alimony, he doesn't have to puff up and strut each day, and the college can remove those awful Big Brother portraits that seem to be sprouting up and multiplying.

His dream of ECC being re-dedicated as Yowell State and the 20 foot bronze statue atop Yowell Tower will not come to fruition thereby saving more money for other capital projects.
