ESEA Agitprop since 1986. A little bloodied, often annoyed, certainly still standing.
Could it perhaps be the blackboard 9.1 bogeyman? Apparently I will not be re-hired to teach in the fall (after six years of service) if I do not complete training on intense blackboard topics such as "how to set up a gradebook" and "how to add faculty contact information". Is this new blackboard really that different? Or is someone just doing a fantastic job of convincing the new powers that her job is so important that teacher staffing/qualification is now in her purview? I really enjoyed my time at Edison, thanks to all of you who have been a part of it. My teaching skills apparently were not important enough to justify my continued employment, but, hey, at least I got a cool key chain at the adjunct dinner to remember you all by :)
